The secret lives of mannequins are just as dramatic and lovelorn as you might think they are.

This is a fun project I started with my friend and After Effects Guru, Mark Christiansen. Basically, we both wanted to make sure we were shooing video with out new Canon 7D cameras every day. So, we embarked on a mission to shoot and edit a 33 second video every day for 33 days. To make sure there would be no excuses for a missing a day, the video has to be shot on our respective blocks. 33 steps from home, more or less. This project has nothing to do with perfection, rather the goals are practice and proliferation.

The gaze. By the time this evening was over, the sun was up. And when the dawn’s rays finally constricted my long dilated pupils, I too had a gaping mouth with a gaze that could hardly believe the sights in my memory. Breaking laws and hearts with a friend and hero, Erik Burke.

After building bikes all day for PUBLIC, then driving to Santa Cruz for a late One Night Music shoot, my bedroom floor is the perfect place for a crash landing.

RIley MacLean is one of the best people I know and he always keeps me motivated. He is always working, creating and pushing his own limits. I also made this video featuring Mr. MacLean’s work.

Hundreds of miles from home, but at least I was shooting something interesting.

Being hundreds of miles from home makes the 33 steps restriction kind of null. However, the project must go on. RIley MacLean’s work ethic and creativity are energizing and motivating. I always feel pushed toward doing more to hone my craft after spending time with this guy.
